1. Birds of Patterson Park

An environmental wildlife study documenting birdlife, flight movement, and natural lighting interactions within Baltimore's Patterson Park. Join me as I spend a day in Patterson Park, located in north Canton, a neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland. The birds loved flying around on this particular day. I had so much fun watching them take off and land on the water.

2. A Working Artist

A documentary series capturing unposed creative workflows, studio environments, and the focus of artists in their element. I conceptualized this as an autobiographical piece depicting the dual-nature of my life. During the day, I worked on renovations of my Baltimore home, and by night I focused on my artwork and creative writing. Artists don’t always live the glamorous, hip life that’s often depicted in film and television. Even when they are depicted as “struggling,” they’re always struggling in really nice industrial apartments or living life like they don’t have a care in the world. Daily life for a working artist can be difficult because we have to financially support ourselves while also keeping the spark alive.

3. Night Vision: A Horror Tale

Cinematic low-light narrative exploring high-contrast tungsten shadows, artificial light falloff, and atmospheric tension. I made this to practice short-form storytelling. As a life-long fan of horror films, my natural instinct was to make something creepy, and my subject graciously humored me. We shot this over the course of two days. One aspect I wanted to attempt was a “day-for-night” technique wherein footage or photography shot during the day is made to look like it was shot at night. I used this technique for some interior scenes where the subject is seen writing. This was a very fun project to shoot, and I plan to use this as a template for similar projects in the future!

4. A Sense of Place

Spatial and architectural framing capturing geography, mood, and personal connection to surrounding environments. Traveling around Maryland for this project, I discovered multiple destinations which I never would have visited otherwise. I got stuck in a snow storm in Harper’s Ferry, which was a happy accident that allowed me to get tremendous shots with the hazy winter clouds looming overhead. It was a magnificent experience.

Compositional Strategy & Workflow

A methodical approach to visual storytelling—balancing raw capture with disciplined color science.

1. Environmental Framing

Utilizing leading lines, depth-of-field separation, and architectural geometry to isolate key subjects and direct visual priority.

  • Natural light manipulation and dynamic range management.
  • Subject isolation through tactical focal length selection.
  • Foreground/background depth staging.

2. Color Science & Grading

Developing subtle, non-destructive color profiles in Camera RAW and Photoshop to establish cohesive visual tone across image series.

  • Highlights and shadows tonal curve balancing.
  • Selective split-toning for cinematic mood.
  • Preserving skin-tone fidelity across varied lighting.
